We honored Larry and Geraldine Glass through our Leave a Legacy Program, two individuals whose hard work, generosity, and love for their community still make a difference in our schools today. In recognition of their lasting impact, the Barren County Soccer Stadium now bears their name for the next 30 years. We’re grateful to the Glass family for sharing their story and allowing us to honor a legacy that will continue to inspire generations.

Barren County Schools invites our families, staff, and community to take part in this meaningful event supporting BC Reads & Feeds.
Each step we take helps provide meals and resources for students in our community who may otherwise go without. This annual fundraiser plays a critical role in fighting food insecurity and supporting children and families across Barren County.

🌱🌼 All In for Ag Education Week – Red Cross Elementary 🌼🌱
It's a hands-on day at Red Cross Elementary! Students got their hands in the dirt as they learned about planting and agriculture. 🌿
Upperclassmen worked on planting seeds for their outdoor garden, while younger students planted flower seeds to help beautify the campus—bringing learning to life in a fun and meaningful way!
Students also enjoyed special visits from our community partners:
🐖🐴 Kendall Crowe (Barren County FFA Alumni, owner of KC Meats) brought pigs and a horse
🐴 Howard Farms shared a miniature horse
🥛 The Kentucky Dairy Development Council demonstrated milking equipment
🐮 Kinslow & Logsdon Farms shared a calf

Students at Park City Elementary learned about the importance of pollinators and honey production during Ag Education Week! From understanding how bees help grow the foods we eat to exploring how honey is made, students got a sweet look into the world of agriculture.
Through hands-on activities and engaging discussions, students discovered just how important pollinators are to our environment and food supply.

Students at Hiseville Elementary explored the fascinating topic of wildlife migration during Ag Education Week! From learning how and why animals migrate to seeing real-life examples, students gained a deeper understanding of the natural world around them.
A highlight of the day was a visit from Corey and his dog, Moose, who demonstrated real-world animal behavior and added an exciting, hands-on element to the lesson. 🐾
Of course, no visit to Hiseville is complete without spotting the one and only porch goose, Mr. Pickles 🦆—a school favorite!

🐖🐄🐑 All In for Ag Education Week – Eastern Elementary 🌾
Students at Eastern Elementary had the opportunity to learn about animal science Monday during Ag Education Week! FFA members from Barren County High School visited classrooms to share information on livestock, agriculture, and the important role of animal agriculture in our food system.
Through interactive activities and discussions, students explored different aspects of animal science and agricultural careers, helping connect what they learn in school to the world of agriculture around them.
