🌱 Calling All Student Growers! 🌱

Are you a student interested in growing produce to be purchased by Trojan’s Table and served in school meals across our district? We’d love to work with you!

By purchasing student-grown produce, we’re not only supporting hands-on learning — we’re building a stronger sense of community and teaching the importance of local, fresh food from seed to cafeteria tray. Together, we’re growing the future of school nutrition right here at home. 💛🥗🌾

Students who want to participate — or who would like help developing a growth plan for what they can plant that may be purchased by Trojan’s Table — should contact Dr. Andy Joe Moore at 📧 andy.moore@barren.kyschools.us to get started.

Last week, the board recognized Mr. Tommy High for a special Leave a Legacy contribution, a 1913 Steinway grand piano that will now serve as the centerpiece of our newly named Trojan Choir Room. Music has always been an important part of the High family, and that legacy continues through his daughter and son-in-law, Susie and Byron Lucas, who serve as choir directors at BCMS and BCHS, and their sons, Brighton and Micah. We are grateful to Mr. High and his family for sharing their love of music with our students and for the lasting impact this gift will have on our school community.

Students from the Temple Hill Help Desk are hard at work continuing their Chromebook repair training! This teamwork between Temple Hill Elementary and our District Tech Office is giving real-world opportunities to STLP HelpDesk students in grades 3–6. These students can already replace screens, keyboards, trackpads, batteries, and more, which allows many Chromebook issues to be repaired right at school! We’re proud of the hands-on skills they’re building and the confidence that comes with solving real tech problems. Great job, STLP!
